On a bright and beautiful 23rd of April 2023, the members of Lapis Social and Cultural Association Inc. came together to commemorate the joyous occasion of Eid-Al-Fitr. The event, which was held at the scenic Northern Fauquier Community Park, was a resounding success and a testament to the spirit of unity and celebration in our community.
With a turnout of around 250 members, this marked the largest gathering of the Badakhshies in the DMV area to date, a truly historic milestone for our association. Faces, both familiar and new, filled the park with an infectious joy and cheerfulness, as community members met and greeted each other, revelling in the festive atmosphere.
The event was impeccably hosted by our very own Mawzoon Sahib. His charismatic presence, delightful jokes, and excellent MC skills kept the crowd entertained throughout the day. His humor and charm brought laughter and applause, truly enhancing the overall spirit of the celebration.
Of course, it wouldn't be a proper Badakhshi gathering without the mouthwatering array of Afghan cuisine. Our members savored the rich flavors of traditional dishes, and the food, much like the event itself, was a wonderful reminder of our shared cultural heritage.
This Eid-Al-Fitr celebration was more than just an event - it was a vivid display of the strong bond within our community, a testament to our shared cultural pride, and an affirmation of the Lapis Social and Cultural Association Inc.'s commitment to bringing our community closer.
